Naming sources
Source names vary by document type. Read on for details on each type.
When specifying a person's name, their name as at the time of the event should be used. For example, on a birth record or marriage record use a maiden name, however on a death record use the married name.
Birth records

If plot number is known:

Note: 'Cemetery Record' is for official cemetery records. For other cemetery databases, such as www.australiancemeteries.com, use the label 'Cemetery Search Results'.
^ Source should be populated if the photo/record is taken from another source, such as Billion Graves or Carol's Tombstone photos. If the photo was taken personally 'source' is not required.

Photos
Where a whole photo album is stored in the family tree, the album should be referenced as the source.
Include the name of the individual photo in the citation details field and link the associated photo while adding the source to the event or fact.

- Will - Name (Year of will) For the actual will
- Will record - Name (Year of will) For the record of will (for example held with PROV)
- Ancestry.com - <name> Family Tree
This is for family trees created by other Ancestry users. Capture username in 'author' field of source. Capture URL to tree in 'call number'
Stories should be added using a 'Custom event'. Set 'Type of event' to "Story" and enter a short summary in the 'Event' field. Further details of the event should then be captured as a note.
